Multispectral Technology - Online + Face-to-Face Course

A course designed for all those who want to implement multispectral technology in their business.

New aerial technologies in the agricultural sector are in their infancy. Spraying drones are already more and more on everyone's lips and are positioning themselves year after year as the new technological reference.

Multispectral technology is heading in the same direction. In the minds of many, this new way to conceive an optimized crop monitoring, to maximize the savings of treatment materials and finally year after year to increase the quality and quantity of the final product are more than enough reasons to start learning about it.

Storing data, processing it and knowing how to interpret it requires time and dedication. The course will give students the possibility to understand more about the indices (NDRE, NVDI, OSAVI, LCI, etc.), how to process them, understand them and review case studies to draw their first conclusions.

But what is multispectral technology?

Multispectral technology enables a new type of crop management. Multispectral data acquisition gives information on crop condition, soil condition, chlorophyll indices and more.

Each type of surface has its own type or band of reflectance and light absorption. The multispectral sensors can then capture data that cannot be detected by the human eye and will give very useful information when making decisions on the amount and type of products to use in the different stages of crop development.

Combined with UAS, this new source of information gives us the opportunity to obtain in a matter of minutes the necessary information to know the health of the crop and consequently to adapt the treatments helping to minimize the use of chemical products and maximizing their use in the different zones that constitute the farm to be analyzed.

Who is the course for?

The course is aimed at anyone who wants to get started with this new technology. Its online format allows a connection from anywhere. Our Spanish-speaking teacher will teach students how to handle data acquisition and processing during the 10-hour course.

No special training is required to follow the course. However, the notions studied will be available to any person, farmer, agronomist and service companies who wish to bring a new approach to their business.

How is the course structured?

The course will consist of ten (10h) online classes and optionally (especially considering that everyone can not travel to our offices) a practical class in the office and in the airfield to understand and learn how to plan a mission with DJI drones for data acquisition and how they can be processed with the DJI Terra platform.

In the 10h of theory, students will cover the following aspects:

 I.  THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF MULTISPECTRAL TECHNOLOGY.

II.  CAMERAS AND AIRCRAFT

III. PREPARATION and OPTIMIZATION OF DATA COLLECTION

IV. SOFTWARE AND PROCESSING PLATFORMS

V. MULTISPECTRAL INDICES

VI. AGRONOMICAL UTILITIES OF MULTISPECTRAL TECHNOLOGY

VII. PRACTICAL CASES

VIII. RESEARCH CASES

In the 8h classroom hours at our offices and nearby flying field, students will have the opportunity to learn about the drones of DJI's range and gain experience flying in the field.

I. Aircraft characteristics

II. DJI interface

III. Mission planning

IV. Field practices
